Tackling the challenges of modern radars detection
ELINT solutions play a key role in providing a comprehensive view of the electromagnetic environment by recording and analyzing non-communication radio signals, generally radar transmissions, to provide situational intelligence (location, type of radar …).
Today, the emergence of modern Low Probability of Interception (LPI) radars has complicated this task. These types of radars use low-power amplifiers, reducing their detection range, which limits the effectiveness on the field. Additionally, the dense environment, with multiple radars and overlapping communication signals, makes it challenging to distinguish radar signals from a multitude of electromagnetic noise.
Traditional systems are not designed to handle these new radar technologies, as they cannot effectively analyze the complex and weak signals that are now common.
Leveraging AI for enhanced radar pulse detection
To overcome these challenges, our team is proud to introduce an innovative approach based on artificial intelligence, using a deep learning object detection algorithm. This algorithm has been adapted to detect and characterize radar pulses, even in extreme conditions such as very low signal-to-noise ratios, where radar signals are drowned out by noise or interference.
This approach allows the AI to accurately identify radars, even when they are difficult to distinguish. By leveraging high-performance hardware platforms, this solution enables real-time detection while significantly reducing processing times, allowing large volumes of data to be processed quickly.
